Blueberry Planting Tips: Blueberries for Midwestern and eastern areas require a sunny location with good air circulation. Group your blueberry cultivars according to their cultural requirements. Blueberries require moist, well-draining acid soil. It is not advised to plant them among junipers or other plants that favor neutral soil. Never plant your blueberry plants near the house foundations or walls, as the lime from the foundations could leach into the soil and kill the bush.
